in the late summer of 2021 Hurricane Ida slammed the coast of Louisiana and Baton Rouge. Though Baton Rouge is an ideal place to witness a hurricane Ida hit hard. I stayed home with friends Tru and Miranda where we rode through the storm after a long day of hurricane adventures. The real strength of the storm did not come until after dark. It was awe inspiring how vulnerable we were in the face of mighty nature. Still, our street (Eugene) seemed to be the only street in town that did not lose power
a trip on the Southwest Chief from Chicago to Flagstaff to The Grand Canyon with the aim of seeing the Colorado river. on the last day it was decided to hike down and up the canyon without staying overnight. It was only after dark that we climbed out of the canyon alone
2020 was a wild year to co-operate in a big city. despite small business restrictions and a tense political atmosphere, the trains ran on time and the snow was plenty. I rode through the city and the suburbs on the el and Metra trains carrying a tool bag working fix-it jobs
